Uninterrupted E-Commerce: Delivering Seamless User Experiences

Operating in an ever-active industry, we seamlessly continued our operations during the national shutdown caused by the pandemic. In May 2020, we were fortunate to be approached by a potential client and began developing a new e-commerce website project for them in July 2022.

This project involved an innovative e-commerce platform where users could act as both buyers and suppliers. Our client emphasized the critical requirement of zero system downtime. They understood that any downtime on an interactive commerce platform would frustrate users, hinder transactions, and lead to revenue loss. Protecting their business from this possibility was their priority.

Over the next two and a half years, we faced multiple challenges in meeting our client’s zero downtime request, primarily due to the unreliable nature of our initial internet service provider. These instances of downtime were highly frustrating for both our team and our client. We invested significant time communicating with the ISP to identify and prevent recurring issues, but our options were limited.

In mid-2021, we embarked on our journey to become cloud providers, informing our client about an upcoming solution for more reliable hosting using AWS. It took time to upskill our team and progress through the Amazon Partner Network levels, eventually achieving Advanced Amazon Partner status in September 2022.

During this process, we thoroughly reviewed the architecture, infrastructure, and development of the project, ensuring compliance with the AWS Well-Architected Framework. We prioritized operational excellence, reliability, and performance efficiency, enabling the workload to recover from disruptions and minimize downtime. In December 2022, we successfully migrated our client’s website to AWS. Since then, our client has experienced zero downtime, allowing our team to focus less on monitoring and troubleshooting potential issues. Users have enjoyed a smooth and responsive system, leading to business growth and increased revenue.
